Peter Lamptey

Helene GaylePeter Lamptey is President of Public Health Programs at Family Health International (FHI). Lamptey began his career as a district medical officer in Ghana, first in the Salaga district, where he was responsible for preventive and clinical health services to 200,000 individuals. Dr. Lamptey directed major USAID-funded global AIDS Projects such as AIDSTECH, AIDSCAP and IMPACT from 1987-2007. He is currently responsible for FHI’s development and public health programs. He received his M.D. from the University of Ghana, an MPH from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a doctorate in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
